Interpreting the Times Blog/AI & Stewardship: A Test of Dominion in the Last Days

A New Kind of Power Has Arrived

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant concept—it is here, embedded into business, communication, finance, and daily life. From predictive algorithms to autonomous systems, AI is rapidly becoming the invisible engine behind modern civilization.

But beneath the innovation lies a deeper question—one that is not technological, but spiritual:

Who will steward this power… and how will it be used?

Dominion Was Always About Stewardship

“Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” — Genesis 2:15

From the very beginning, God gave mankind dominion—not ownership, but responsibility.

We are no longer just tending land…

We are now managing systems, information, and intelligence itself.

AI: The Multiplication of Human Capability

AI is not merely a tool—it is a multiplier.

• It multiplies knowledge
• It multiplies influence
• It multiplies productivity
• It multiplies decision-making power

“AI is not just increasing what we can do—it is increasing what we are responsible for.”

“For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required…” — Luke 12:48

The Stewardship of Information

AI systems now process and shape:

• What people see
• What people believe
• What people prioritize

“Are we stewarding truth… or engineering perception?”

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…” — 2 Timothy 4:3

The Stewardship of People

As AI advances, it is reshaping the workforce:

• Jobs are being automated
• Roles are being redefined
• Economic systems are shifting

“Are we building systems that serve people… or systems that replace them?”

The Stewardship of Power and Control

AI centralizes power.

• Data is concentrated
• Infrastructure is controlled by a few
• Decisions are increasingly automated

“The infrastructure for global control systems is not coming—it is being built.”

“And he causes all, both small and great…” — Revelation 13:16

The Illusion of Autonomy

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” — Proverbs 3:5

As machines begin to “think” and “decide,” there is a growing temptation to shift trust away from God and toward technology.

A Test of Faithful Stewardship

AI is not evil in itself—but it reveals the heart of its user.

“AI is not just a technology issue—it is a stewardship test.”

Will it be used to:

• Serve or control?
• Illuminate truth or distort it?
• Empower people or replace them?

The Call to the Church

“Of the sons of Issachar… had understanding of the times…” — 1 Chronicles 12:32

The Church must:

• Discern the times
• Test all things
• Walk in wisdom

Conclusion: Faithful in the Age of Intelligence

We are entering the age of artificial intelligence—but above all, it remains the age of human accountability before God. “The question is not how advanced AI becomes… but whether we will be found faithful.” “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2

Maranatha, Lord Jesus.
